Templates

Introduction

Managing multiple websites can be a complex task, but WEDOS Protection simplifies this with its powerful Templates feature. Templates allow you to create a unified set of settings that can be applied across various active domains, making it easier to manage and maintain multiple projects with consistent configurations.

How Templates Work in WEDOS Protection

Creating a Template Domain:

  • Access the Template Feature:
From the main administration page in WEDOS Protection, click on the „add template domain“ button located at the top right corner.
  • Enter Template Domain Name:
A prompt will appear asking you to enter the template domain name (e.g., „My Custom Template“). This serves as an identifier for the set of settings you wish to create.
  • Choose a Plan:
After entering the template name, you’ll be prompted to „Choose a Plan.“
    • By selecting a plan, you define which settings will be replicated across all domains associated with this template.
    • The chosen plan determines the baseline configuration that will be applied to each domain linked to the template.
  • Proceed with Template Creation:
Once you select your plan, click „Continue“ to move forward.

Assigning Domains to a Template:

  • Select Domains:
In the template configuration interface, you can select as many domains as you want from those you’ve already added to your administration panel. This selection links these domains to the template, enabling unified management.
  • Unified Settings Management:
With the template in place, any changes made to its settings—such as purging the CDN Cache or updating GEO IP configurations etc.—are applied simultaneously across all associated domains.
    • Example: If you manage 100 websites and need to purge the CDN Cache after an update, you can do it once through the template rather than individually on each site.
    • Similarly, for sites under frequent attack, you can adjust security settings in the template, and those changes will automatically propagate to all linked domains.

Benefits

  • Time Efficiency:
Save valuable time by managing settings for multiple websites in one centralized location.
  • Consistency:
Ensure that all your domains have uniform configurations, reducing the risk of discrepancies and security gaps.
  • Ease of Management:
Templates simplify complex tasks, making it easier to apply bulk updates and maintain high performance and security standards across all your projects.
  • Flexibility:
Although templates provide unified settings, you can still add domains as separate services if you require different configurations.

Conclusion

The Templates feature in WEDOS Protection empowers you to efficiently manage multiple websites by creating unified settings that can be easily applied across your domains. Whether you need to perform bulk operations like purging the CDN Cache or adjust security settings for frequently targeted sites, Templates streamline your workflow and ensure consistency across all your projects. Enjoy simplified management and robust control over your web environment—all from a single, intuitive interface.
