What is WEDOS Global Protection (WGP)?

WGP is a web protection service. Our main mission is to provide high-quality, accessible protection for your websites—whether you’re an individual managing your own site, a small business, or a large corporation.

How do I activate WGP?

1. step – register here: client.wedos.global

2. step – add domain/s you want to protect

3. step – choose type of activation:
a) change DNS servers to ours (best option)
b) setup CNAME in your DNS (no need to migrate DNS to us)

4. step – the system guides you through a simple setup

Tip: When setting up a CNAME, be sure to enter every character correctly. Even a small mistake can prevent the service from working properly.

How do subdomains work with WGP?

The method for adding subdomains depends on your chosen service plan:
Start Plan: Subdomains must be added as separate services, with an individual fee for each subdomain.
Advanced and Higher Plans: You can add subdomains directly through the WGP administration panel. If the subdomains point to the same IP address as the main domain, they are free.

If they point to a different IP, the cost will be one tier lower than your main domain’s plan (e.g., if you have Advanced, a subdomain pointing elsewhere will be priced at the Start level; Expert → Advanced pricing; Ultimate → Expert pricing).

Do I have to renew my certificates?

In the case of the standard Let’s Encrypt certificate, which is in WGP by default, we renew the certificate automatically.

Is it possible to use WebSocket with WGP?

Yes, WebSocket is supported. Like custom SSL certificates, this feature is available from the Expert plan onwards.

Can the trial period be extended beyond 15 days?

Our standard trial period is 15 days for the Advanced plan. However, if you need more time to evaluate the service, it is possible to extend the trial period up to one month. Please contact our sales team to arrange this on an individual basis.

What billing options does WGP offer?

We offer several billing options to suit different needs:
Individual Domain Setup: The service is set up with a 15-day trial for the Advanced plan. Before the trial ends, you’ll receive a payment prompt. Once payment is made, you can choose between annual or monthly billing (note that monthly payments may include an extra fee—e.g., 10% for Advanced and higher plans and 100% for the Start plan).
Prepaid Account for Multiple Sites: For businesses managing dozens or hundreds of websites, you can set up a prepaid account. You add credit to the account, and the service deducts fees automatically as you use it—resulting in a single consolidated invoice.
Postpaid Account (Negative Balance Option): For B2B partners and large customers, we offer a postpaid account where services are billed at the beginning of the following month based on the previous month’s usage.

Is WGP expensive?

Additionally, mutual TLS can be configured for secure internal server communications.

Yes, WGP supports Let’s Encrypt certificates, including wildcard certificates. This allows you to secure your main domain and all its subdomains with a single certificate.

Can I upload my own SSL certificate?

Yes, you can upload your own SSL certificate. However, this option is available starting with the Expert plan.

What about Geoblocking and blacklisting?

Both geoblocking (restricting access based on geographic location) and blacklisting (blocking suspicious traffic) are available, but only from the Expert plan. These tools help provide an additional layer of targeted protection for your website.

Does WGP support multi-user access for managing multiple sites?

Start and Advanced variants have only informative dashboard in WGP administration.
