If you have another DNS provider. With this option you must manually setup CNAME in your DNS – no need to migrate DNS.
- To complete the setup process, follow the instructions given on the screen. Please note that making changes to DNS records can take minutes or hours to fully propagate.
- If everything is set up correctly, you should see a green check mark next to DNS and Certificate under the current Subscription plan on the Dashboard for your domain. Now your domain will be fully protected by WEDOS Protection.
*Important considerations when choosing CNAME DNS configuration:
- CNAME records can typically only be used on subdomains (shop.domain.com) and not second-level domains (domain.com), so you must manually point the A and AAAA records to the provided WEDOS Protection IP addresses.
- If your DNS provider supports ANAME or ALIAS records, or CNAME flattening, then you can use these records for the second-level domain.
- When setting up a CNAME, be sure to enter every character correctly. Even a small mistake can prevent the service from working properly.
- Ensure that your DNS records are pointing to the WEDOS IP addresses provided by WEDOS Protection only, and not to the web server.
